1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

now, exaltation is of the Lord.

the humility that comes from the Spirit of Christ within us shall not be in vain.

by His grace, we put on this new clothe of humility, casting away the old self.

1. 1 Peter 5:5
   Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
2. Colossians 3:12
   Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
3. Ephesians 4:22
   You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

   Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices

   and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
6. Ephesians 4:24
   and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

the revelation

behind everything, there is a revelation pf His goodness and mercy.

of the revelation of humility, it was hidden in John chapter six.

you may see yourself having no capability to feed/help five thousand people.

but the same Jesus in you is the Jesus that was with them then.

the Jesus in you will say to you, “[verse 5] Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?”

6He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.

what!?!?!??! Jesus test His disciple? Jesus put us into trial?

the testing of God is different from that of the devil’s

the trial/testing from the devil aims to stir up the sinful nature in you [tempt].

but the one of God aims to stir up the holiness in you [discipline], for example, Hebrews 12.

 7Philip answered him, “Eight months’ wages^[a] would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”

 8Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, 9“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”

philip’s suggestion was way off.

however, andrew’s suggestion was taken by the Lord.

how come?

cos Andrew presented a boy to the Lord.

a boy is symbolic. it represents humility.

Luke 18:

16But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

in Matt 19,

Jesus clearly hid this verse – ‘1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.’ in His action.

 14Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

casting cares upon Him

moreover, Andrew also did cast his cares upon Jesus.

he told the Lord, “how far will they go among so many?”

Andrew presented humility [the small boy] before the Lord and cast his cares upon the Lord [by speaking - James 5:13].

right after Andrew had spoken, the Lord took over.

the same Jesus is in us. He is our humility. surely, in situation as such, the Lord will take over.

the Lord leads

notice that it is the Lord who leads Andrew into speaking up.

the Lord asked first and that led Andrew into suggesting what the Lord had in mind [John 6:6].

the same Jesus in you will do the same thing.

HE WIL LEAD YOU! AMEN!

exalted

indeed, Jesus exalted Andrew, along with other disciples above the situation.

they collected 12 baskets of leftovers.

when one person among you is humble before the Lord, the rest will also be exalted.

it just takes one righteous.

Amen.

anyway, ‘andrew’ means manly.

Jesus will lead us into being humble toward Him.

Jesus will exalt us in due time above our situation.

Jesus will never throw us one side and say, “this is your problem.”

Jesus will be the mighty Hand covering us.
